New Designs!

Hey everyone!

I’ve been doing some serious brainstorming and have come up with a few new designs!  The water blue ocean series and wall platters make great decorative accents both indoors and outdoors too.  My favorite invention though are my centerpieces.  I envision them set up at a wedding or a dinner party, but they look great for everyday use without flowers too.  Use silk flowers and create a lasting look, or even one that changes with the seasons.  These pieces are great because they make everyone seem like a professional flower arranger!  I’m always working on new styles and ideas -contact me if you have an idea you’d like to see translated into pottery!

My Bailey gas kiln has arrived and is working beautifully!

I have now been in business for over a year; I have a business license, two studios, and a ton of finished work.  I just got my gas kiln this spring so now I’ve got everything I need to really get business started.  I have pots for sale at Gensheer’s studio in Augusta, Point of Art Gallery in Union Point, on this website, on etsy.com, and on ebay.  Soon I will have pots for sale at several retail locations including, Simply Kitchen in Augusta, Cote Designs in Aiken, and Women’s Echos in Aiken.  You can also set up an appointment to visit my kiln and glazing studio which is where I keep all of my finished work that’s not at a gallery or store.  Please contact me if you have any questions or would like for me to make a custom piece for you.  Thanks for visiting my site!

New kiln load now online!

I unloaded a new kiln a week ago and now all the photos are online!  The kiln held about 150 pots and all but 2 of them survived the firing (that’s a better ratio than usual).  I’m very pleased with this round of pots.  I feel that I’ve developed more of a style and taken some quite successfull risks.  I really like the new textures I’ve used and the other altering techniques like the wavy rims and the birdhouse openings.  The combination of Chun Blue with Limestone Clear is a new one for me that turned out really nice on some pieces.  I’m particularly proud of the teapots and the pitchers.  They are very functional, feel great in your hand, and pour well.  The pitchers are very light for thier size (only about 3.5lbs).  I focused on making lots of pots that would make great and inexpensive Christmas gifts so please let me know with an email if you see something you like.  Include the item number and ask any questions you would like.  Thanks for visiting the site and happy holidays.

Welcome Everyone!

My website is now complete and functioning -something I have been anticipating greatly!  I’ll use this space to setup a dialouge and let everyone know what I’m up to.  Please feel free to post comments -anything from spelling corrections to critiques of my work, and don’t forget that commission work is a big part of what I do.  If you don’t see what you want, let me know and I’ll make it for you.  If you don’t like what I made, no worries -I’ll put it for sale, and try again to make the perfect piece just for you.  I can’t wait to hear from ya’ll!
