This pot is a microwave bacon cooker.  You fold the bacon over the rim then cook it in the microwave for a few minutes.  The fat drips into the bowl and can be poured out of the spout to save for cooking.  The bacon comes out crispy and less fatty than other methods -even though it is U shaped.
