These are salt fired.  The clay body was mesed up somehow and caused the surface to bubble and absorb glaze like a sponge.  A few of these melted in the lowfire salt and the ones that are left are brittle and have a funny, racu-like sound to them.  I still have a few of these but I’m selling them only as seconds.
